I grew up in the 0's with respect for authority figures and adults. As an adult, it is time to stop letting people who are inappropriate do or say things to you that you don't agree with. If a stranger approaches you and demands anything, you don't have to listen to or engage them in any way. They have no reason to be in your personal space or saying anything that doesn't concern them. Walk away. If need be, find someone to help you stand your ground but you are not obligated to listen to anything they have to say. This is a lesson for everyone. Don't be afraid to tell people like this to back off or threaten to call the police

Now I'm speaking from experience: when your appearance & weight gets mocked and laughed at for basically your entire childhood, it leaves a mark that probably never truly leaves no matter how much you tell yourself you're over it. I 100% understand the teacher's reaction.

I recently made jam out of my loquat tree's crop of loquats. It took hours... literally a process that took like 8+ hours total to prepare, boil, process, etc. the fruit into jam. I would be SO mad if anyone older than 6 years old thought it would be funny to add something to the jam after all that work. I can see a very young kid thinking it was funny and not really realizing how much work something like that takes, but an adult like OP's roommate? I'd have made him drink every last molecule of that syrup XD
