I was ready to ridicule this person like so many others have done. Eight hours isn't much these days and doesn't compare to the sweatshop conditions in far away countries. But this person has said that they are 'neurodivergent' which means that their brain function is not typical. This could mean that they are autistic, dyslexic or dyspraxic, for example. Additionally, this worker is trans, which, on it's own, must be very difficult for them, particularly when being misgendered. So if you look at the facts, you may reach a vastly different conclusion. 'Young, autistic, transgender student worker struggles with 8-hour shifts' is the accurate headline and it makes me feel so much more sympathetic towards this person. But that doesn't drive web traffic, does it BP? How can so many hate a person who is neurodivergent and trans but puts themself out there anyway to earn a living and better themself? It would be easy for them to hide. They don't. And they get bullied for it. Enough.

Mindfulness gets a bad press if you ask me. It's just a case of tuning in to all of your senses and suppressing active thought. It can be quite grounding and relaxing. The only difficulty is finding the time to do it and a suitable location. You don't have to grow dreadlocks and live in a commune though, but you can if you want.

I have a bit of a crazy theory about this. When you're a kid, you're literally seeing lots of things for the first time so you're noticing them. Because you have so much to take in, time appears to go slower. As you get used to your environment, you stop noticing things so much and time seems to go faster. Maybe, if you make a conscious effort to follow the advice in this post, time will appear to go slower again. Just a shower thought.
