What I cannot understand that a) people see this as normal treatment and b) call everybody suggesting a respectful treatment of animals a left idiot. Even if you don't agree with the idea to have animals living an as much as possible natural life, this is your food. Make your food surviving these living circumstances needs a massive chemical treatment, with lowest quality of food as outcome. Hens living on grass in fresh air produce healthier meat with more protein.
