Foxconn Technology has suspended production at two factories in China after cases of COVID-19 were reported on site [File: Nicky Loh/Reuters]

A subsidiary of Apple supplier Foxconn Technology Group has closed two factories outside of Shanghai after new COVID-19 cases were reported on site, the company said on Monday.

The factories operated by Foxconn Interconnect Technology Limited, also known as FIT, are located in Kunshan, Jiangsu Province, a small city situated between Shanghai and the historic Suzhou.
