The Portland Police Bureau responded to a call about a fire at around 3:30 a.m. local time. Upon arrival, it was discovered that an 'incendiary device' had been placed inside one of the ballot boxes, prompting security personnel to quickly extinguish the flames.
Meanwhile, a second ballot box was also targeted in a similar manner in a separate incident at a bus station located in nearby Vancouver, Washington. The Clark County Elections Office confirmed that this second ballot box was set on fire at the C-TRAN Park and Ride at Fisher’s Landing Transit Center.
