BrewDog is a Scottish craft brewery, distillery and global bar chain founded in 2007 by James Watt and Martin Dickie, starting out brewing in Fraserburgh before shifting its main production to a larger, purpose‑built site in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, in 2012.
The founders said they started the company in their mid‑20s because they were bored of industrially brewed lagers and “stuffy” ales dominating the UK beer market, and wanted to shake up the scene with their own craft beers.
