Craig Gordon 5
Pulled off a standard near-post save for his capabilities after only three-minutes. Was rooted at Jovic’s header, but defenders did not help protect his goal. Could do nothing about Cristiano Biraghi‘s sublime free-kick. Could’ve done better at Antonin Barak’s goal.
Nathaniel Atkinson 2
The goal hero against Killie was temporarily forced off injured which unfortunately saw the hosts take advantage of their extra-man. Eventually subbed off which adds to Hearts’ already lengthy injury list.
Stephen Kingsley 3
Have to feel for the Scotland cap after good form earlier in the campaign in his natural position. Tough going alongside a fellow left-back playing at centre-half against good quality opposition.
Alex Cochrane 3
The on-loan Brighton player did not cover himself in glory at the Serie A outfit’s first goal. He was nowhere near Luca Jovic, with the ex-Real Madrid star getting a free header to score. In fairness, he’s not a centre-back. Committed foul for penalty.
Andy Halliday 5
Put in a crucial tackle to halt Aleksa Terzić who burst into the box, looking likely to shoot in what was a dangerous situation. Last ditch attempt to stop Nicolás González from scoring didn’t come off, though. Assist for Jambos goal after neat one-two.
Cammy Devlin 4
Showed grit and determination after going two down in the early stages. Tracked back and passed the ball on quickly to help set up counter-attacks. In end, like the rest of Hearts’ midfield, Fiorentina ran all over the top of them. Gave away ball in lead up to fourth.
Peter Haring 4
Similar to his teammates, he was simply outclassed in the middle of the park. Hearts’ midfield couldn’t get anywhere near to their counterparts and didn’t control a single element of the game. Stepping into back-five helped.
Jorge Grant 4
The closest supporting player to Humphrys. Jinked past his marker on a couple of occasions which helped get Robbie Neilson’s side up the pitch. Was guilty of gifting possession back to hosts.
Alan Forrest 3
Virtually anonymous, the attacker hardly touched the ball. Of course, the ball was not in the attacking areas for the Jambos very much.
Barrie McKay 4
Come under criticism with some claiming he should be dropped. Was close to making a very early, positive impact here with his through-ball perfect for Humphrys to run on to. Understandably struggled to influence match in a positive sense.
Stephen Humphrys 7
After his goal at Rugby Park, he was inches away from netting after just 30-seconds. His shot from range smacked the post agonisingly for the Jambos. Flashed another shot across goal as he proved to be a threat. Eventually got his goal and took it well with low, hard finish. The one bright spark.
