Michael Douglas has indicated he may be retired from acting, stating he has no real intentions of taking on new projects.
Speaking at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, the 80-year-old actor revealed he has been on a self-imposed hiatus since 2022.
Douglas explained he stopped working purposely after nearly 60 years in the industry, not wanting to drop “dead on the set.”
While not definitively retired, he said he would consider returning to acting only “if something special came up.”
His last role was US president Benjamin Franklin in Apple TV+'s Franklin, and he expressed contentment watching his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, work.
