TransPennine Express warned customers to only travel using their services today is it's essential.
There will be a large number of cancellations customers across the North and into Scotland, meaning many key routes will face disruption. Today, on Friday, June 23, reduced services will be running on routes from Liverpool to Manchester and Newcastle and Liverpool to Hull.
Cancellations will cause issues on other routes including Manchester to Scarborough, York to Scarborough, Manchester to Huddersfield, Newcastle to Edinburgh and Huddersfield to Leeds. Customers who need to make essential journeys are asked to plan ahead, allow extra time for travel and, where possible, to use alternative transport.
