Pakistan’s information minister Attaullah Tarar on Saturday claimed that about 300 Afghan Taliban fighters and members of allied groups have been killed so far in cross-border clashes with his country’s forces.

A suicide bombing near an Islamabad court killed 12 people and injured 27. PM Sharif blamed India-backed militant groups originating in Afghanistan, an allegation Delhi has yet to address.

In recent weeks, Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban have engaged in the most serious military clashes between the two neighbours in several years.
