Telangana government allocates ₹100 crore for renovation of JNNURM, VAMBAY houses

HMDA has allocated ₹100 crore to GHMC for renovation/restoration of JNNURM/VAMBAY houses in Hyderabad. MLAs brought deteriorating conditions to Minister K.T. Rama Rao's notice, following which CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao instructed HMDA to allot funds. Govt is also investing ₹9,100 crore to build double-bedroom homes for the urban poor.

Telangana HC awards 6-mo jail term to Narsingi Municipal Commissioner & M. Ratna Reddy of Vishwa Bharati Educational Society for contempt of court. Sentence suspended for 10 days to allow appeal. Society had started construction of building without permission from HMDA, violating HC order. Commissioner partly demolished illegal structure.
