After 35-year pause, US may restart neighbourhood investigations for citizenship applicants
US citizenship applicants could face closer scrutiny as USCIS ends its general waiver of neighbourhood investigations. The agency may examine applicants’ residence, employment and character histories, including through neighbours or employers, although this does not mean every naturalisation applicant will automatically face an investigation.
